Title card research

  For this task, we had to do research on how different movies and TV shows displayed their title card, for us to get some insight on how we may want to do ours for our opening. We also learned about different title card styles and how they represent their media through font and energy during the opening sequence.

Analyzing an extract

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7jo5Cr6WUA Through clever use of sound , this extract from sinners helps the viewer understand the main character of the text’s motivations and abilities. Miles Caton has the ability to conjure spirits from the past, present, and future, and this is directly reflected in the sound design. In the beginning of the song, it starts out with a diegetic sound reflective of the setting, traditional blues music, using only the singer’s voice and the guitar he plays. However, once the spirits start appearing, it begins to use more modern music techniques, like electric guitar and snare drums, which is non-diegetic. This was likely done to emphasize the shift in tone from before the spirits appear to after the spirits appear, as up until this point the audience has been accustomed to the blues music, the shift signals to them that this is an important moment. Creating a short story

                      After creating a storyboard, we then went into taking the pictures as we had planned out previously. All of our photos were taken in our school's courtyard. Additionally, we explained why we chose the shots we did in the analyses above.
