Audience survey results

 


With these survey results, we now know that people really liked the idea of a film centering on kidnapping, with an overwhelmingly positive response to that question. Additionally, the majority of people were willing to watch a movie of the thriller genre. This tells me that the idea to make a thriller movie about kidnapping was a good one, because a majority of the audience like those aspects. The survey results revealed that people associate darkness with the unknown and danger the most, reaffirming the decision to have dark scenes in times of danger.

Creating our animatic

Attached above I have included our animatic, which is our storyboard set to music and a voiceover.  While I was working on the storyboard, I had a specific pace in mind. The beginning would be tense and personal, the shots would be close and hold for a bit. Then the flashback would slow down and take its time, zooming out a bit and changing shots relatively slowly. Finally, the climax would be fast-paced and heart-pounding. When we tried to recreate this in the animatic, it actually worked as I intended for the most part. The only thing I realized was that with the pace I created it would be a little short, and not reach as far into the 2 minute time-limit as I hoped. So to remedy this, I may incorporate one or two extra shots in the beginning scene to build up more tension and create a longer experience. Creating a short story

                      After creating a storyboard, we then went into taking the pictures as we had planned out previously. All of our photos were taken in our school's courtyard. Additionally, we explained why we chose the shots we did in the analyses above.
